VR Forged has just released their new 1pc forged monoblock wheels for the Rivian R1S SUV and R1T Truck. This set of wheels comes in a 22Ă—9.5, +48mm offset in the OEM bolt pattern of 5Ă—139.7. Continuing the strategic focus of VR Forged by making wheels for specific vehicles, these D12-R have been designed specifically for the weight and load rating the Rivian requires. FEA analysis shows the strength and rigidity that these wheels are engineered too. As a 1-piece forged monoblock wheel, each forging starts out from raw metal being put through a 10,000 ton press to finish with the strongest and purest material available. All wheels go through different impact testing and finish testing to ensure the high quality color stands up to the rugged or street use your Rivian gets put through. The stylish 5 spoke design and integrated outer ring is a perfect fit for the Rivian body. These wheels were designed to use the factory tire size and retain the OEM lug nut size so they are an easy installation.
The biggest benefit of these new VR Forged wheels is the weight savings. This is a key important factor in EV wheels. There are 2 ways to look at wheel weight. The first is what the “dead” weight is and then what the “rotational” weight is. Rotational weight is the focus point as it has a factor of 3. The harder something is to spin, the more energy it requires. The VR Forged D12-R weighed in at 35lbs compare to the stock wheel of 45lbs. That 10lbs of dead weight is actually saving you 30 lbs PER CORNER of rotational weight. Weighing each wheel with OEM tire mounted gave us some impression results as well. The OEM wheel with Pirelli tire weighed in at 80lbs compared to the VR Forged wheel with the same OEM tire just dismounted weighed in at 72lbs saving 8lbs per corner 24lbs of rotational weight.

We just had a very fun project here at Vivid Racing HQ that is this Porsche 911 991.2 Turbo. We gave it the VR Treatment full of amazing bolt-ons and a bit of carbon pieces. This combination turned the 911 Turbo into a full-blown rocket ship! This car was relatively stock except for a set of KW Club sport coilovers, and made for a perfect platform for a few performance mods.
Let’s get into what exactly we’ve done to this car: we added an Armytrix Valvetronic Exhaust system, a VR Performance Cold Air Intake system along with Diverter Valves and some aero bits.
Our first step was installing an Armytrix Valvetronic Exhaust System, which gives you options to open or close the exhaust valves with a remote controller. When the valves are fully open for maximum flow and power, it creates an exotic tone and allows for higher performance. When the valves are closed, exhaust volume is reduced for a more comfortable drive.
The 991.2 Turbo performance was greatly improved with an ECU Flash. Like all turbocharged vehicles, changing the vehicle’s calibration allows for improvement of the vehicle’s throttle response, horsepower, and torque. The car will rev out faster, which will reduce the sluggish off-the-line feeling till the peak of the powerband hits. The mid-range pulls harder in its peak torque and horsepower zones, allowing the car to increase power all the way to redline.
In stock form, the 3.8L Turbocharged Flat 6 made an impressive 540lb-ft of torque and 487 all-wheel horsepower. After adding the intake and the exhaust, we made 465 WHP and 517lb-ft of torque on our Mustang Dyno. Keep in mind, that the 991.2 Turbo was running on 91 octane with our dyno room being over 100°F – you will experience much better gains in more optimal conditions. But once we added our Stage 1 VR Tuned ECU Flash combined with the Armytrix system, we experienced a respectable gain of 98 lb-ft of torque and 58 all-wheel horsepower.

Let’s dive into Exterior Mods. We outfitted this 991.2 Turbo with some tasteful carbon fiber aero pieces. The first thing we did was adding the DarwinPro GT2RS Style Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler and the VR Aero Carbon Diffuser, this combination added serious sauce to the rear of the car. To balance out the thick rear of this 991.2, we added the ParwinPro Front Lip and the Porsche OEM RS Side Skirts. This completes the OEM+ aesthetic that we are looking to achieve.
After the 911.2 made its way back back to the owner @lambo_208, He’s done some sick final touches to the car with a fresh wrap and powdercoated wheels. The pink and white color scheme complete the sporty and aggressive look. Those VR Forged D12 Wheels are designed to work with most OEM TPMS sensors, some OEM lug nuts, or aftermarket lug nuts and bolts. The wheels are also designed to work with OEM brakes and most big brake kits. The wheels feature engraved logos and a machined VR logo center cap. The front wheels are a 20×9 +45mm and the rear wheels are a 20×12 +45mm.
